Nanny (Clothilde) Timeline and Summary

Nanny is hired to look after Ahmed and her next oldest sibling. Ahmed says that although Nanny is a Christian, she's really careful not to evangelize them.
Nanny hints that Ahmed's mother has something to do with the death of a child that was born before Ahmed.
She has a terrible fight with Ahmed's mother, who thinks that Nanny is making Ahmed too dependent. Ahmed has to move into her own bed after this.
Nanny's daughter, Eugenie, comes for a visit. Ahmed is a wee bit jealous.
Nanny spends time in the summers with Ahmed at Alexandria. The two are kind of isolated from the rest of the family because Ahmed is the youngest and left out of many activities.
Nanny dies of stomach cancer when Ahmed is away at school in England.
