The attendant sits at the desk near the entrance of the clinic. When Phoenix announces her arrival, the attendant assumes her to be a charity case.
The attendant asks Phoenix for her name, history, and reason for coming.
A nurse steps in and identifies Phoenix as a woman who comes regularly for medicine for her grandson. The nurse takes over the questioning.
After Phoenix receives the medicine from the nurse, the attendant offers to give Phoenix some change in the spirit of Christmastime.
