Jethro Creighton Timeline and Summary

Jethro waits with his family for Shad to return from Newton with news on the war front.
During a visit with Shad, Jethro learns about the intricacies of war.
Jeth is chosen to run some errands in Newton (all by his lonesome), and while he's there he meets the super mean Guy Wortman.
Guy tries to attack Jeth on his ride home, but luckily Dave Burdow is by Jethro's side and takes care of Wortman.
When Matt suffers a heart attack, Jethro is left in charge of the farm.
Eb deserts the war and discloses himself to Jethro, who continues to hide his cousin and bring him food.
Not knowing what to do about Eb, Jethro writes a letter to President Lincoln for help.
Jeth receives word back from the President (fancy) saying he's going to give deserters a second chance.
When the war finally ends, Jethro and Ross Milton head to Newton to celebrate.
But then Jethro is gutted when news breaks that Lincoln was assassinated.
Jethro is surprised by Shad and Jenny's homecoming, and Shad's announcement that Jeth is going to live with his sister and brother-in-law and get a real education.
