Aladdin (Scott Weinger)’s Timeline and Summary
- Aladdin is a poor, orphaned boy struggling to survive on the streets of Agrabah. He's around 18 years old.
- We first see Aladdin as he's running from the guards after stealing a loaf of bread.
- Later, Aladdin rescues a pretty girl who's in danger of having her hand cut off. She's a runaway and they commiserate over their shared problems.
- When Aladdin is captured by the guards, the girl reveals that she was really the princess in disguise. Oh, now Aladdin feels stupid.
- In the dungeon, Aladdin's approached by an old man who tells him that they can sneak into this cave and get a whole bunch of treasure. The old man double crosses Aladdin…but Aladdin also winds up with this lamp.
- The lamp has a genie inside who has to grant Aladdin three wishes.
- For his first wish, Aladdin wants to become a prince so he can have a chance with Jasmine.
- Aladdin struts into Agrabah with a total makeover as "Prince Ali," but Jasmine isn't thrilled. It's not until he starts being himself that Jasmine is willing to give him a chance.
- After a magic carpet ride, Jasmine calls Aladdin out on his lies—he's not really a prince, is he? But Aladdin thinks fast and piles on some more lies. Nice one?
- Back at the palace, Aladdin is captured by the guards and thrown into the sea to drown. When he wakes up again, the Genie's used his second wish to save him. Thank goodness.
- Aladdin gets back to the palace just in time to reveal Jafar's evil plan and to win Jasmine's heart. Yay? The bad news is he's gotta keep up this prince act forever and become—gulp—sultan one day.
- This means Aladdin can't use his last wish to free the Genie. Too bad. So sad.
- Aladdin decides he's got to tell Jasmine the truth about his past, but before he can, Jafar appears and steals the royal crown from the Sultan. Turns out he's the master of the lamp now.
- Jafar then unmasks Aladdin and sends him shooting off in one of the palace towers. This is no good.
- Aladdin, Abu and Carpet land in the snow but manage to fly back to the palace, where Aladdin sneaks in and tries to grab the lamp.
- Jafar and Aladdin battle it out, and Aladdin tricks Jafar into using his last wish to turn himself into an all-powerful genie. This is a big mistake.
- With Jafar trapped inside a lamp, everything is back to normal.
- Aladdin uses his last wish to free the Genie, and he and Jasmine are able to get married when the Sultan changes the law in Agrabah. Huzzah.
- Finally, Jasmine and Aladdin fly off on a magic carpet ride of love and happiness. High fives all around.
