Jafar (Jonathan Freeman)’s Timeline and Summary
- Jafar has obviously spent a long time looking for the entrance to the Cave of Wonders. He's got half a scarab beetle that will get him in. The other half comes from a thief named Gazeem.
- It's not enough, though. Jafar needs someone else to enter the cave. A "diamond in the rough."
- Jafar uses the Sultan's blue diamond ring to find this exact person—it's Aladdin. He has the guards go pick him up.
- Jafar lies to Princess Jasmine when he tells her that he's had Aladdin killed for kidnapping royalty. Wow, this guy is devious.
- Jafar disguises himself as an old man and goes down into the dungeons to convince Aladdin to follow him to the Cave of Wonders. He tells Aladdin to go inside and grab the lamp. Then he can have all the treasure he wants. Sure…
- When Aladdin comes out with the lamp, Jafar tries to kill him.
- Jafar winds up losing Aladdin and the lamp in the process. Bummer.
- Back at the palace, Jafar and Iago work up another scheme—maybe Jafar can marry Jasmine. Then he'll be sultan. That's one way to achieve your evil dreams.
- Just as Jafar is laying his evil plans on the Sultan, a parade comes down the street. It's Prince Ali. Jafar does not trust this guy.
- Jafar has this new prince kidnapped in the night and thrown off a cliff.
- The next day, Jafar hypnotizes the Sultan and orders him to make Jasmine marry him. It's all so wicked.
- This plan is foiled by Aladdin, who reveals Jafar's scheme…but not before Jafar gets a glimpse of Aladdin carrying the lamp. Jafar realizes exactly who this kid is.
- Jafar escapes and hatches a new plan. Iago's going to snatch the lamp from Aladdin, and then they'll be in charge of the Genie. And that's exactly what they do.
- For Jafar's first wish, he decides to be sultan. Nice.
- Then, Jafar uses his second wish to turn himself into the most powerful sorcerer in all the world. He also unmasks Aladdin.
- Jafar is feeling pretty good about himself. Maybe Jasmine would even like to marry him. Hey, that's a pretty great third wish.
- It isn't until Jasmine kisses Jafar that he realizes she's been playing him. Aladdin was just trying to get the lamp from him the whole time.
- Jafar and Aladdin fight, and Aladdin makes the apparent mistake of telling Jafar that he's not as powerful as the Genie. Shows what Aladdin knows. Jafar still has one wish left.
- Jafar tells the Genie that he wishes to be an all-powerful genie. And it's awesome…for about ten seconds.
- Jafar realizes too late that he's been tricked as he gets sucked inside his own lamp. Sorry, not sorry, Jafar.
