Eve Harrington (Anne Baxter)’s Timeline and Summary

Eve meets Karen outside the theater, and Karen introduces her to her idol, Margo Channing.
After Eve proves efficient and resourceful, Margo hires Eve as her assistant.
However, Eve oversteps her bounds when she places a phone call to Bill without Margo's knowledge on his birthday.
At Bill's party, Eve asks Karen to convince Lloyd to give her the part of Eve's understudy. Karen agrees.
When Karen tricks Margo into not performing, Eve calls all the critics in New York. Her performance as understudy makes her a star.
Eve tries to seduce Bill, but fails.
Addison writes an article about Eve, which insults Margo. Eve says Addison twisted her words.
At the Cub Room, Eve demands that Karen get her the part of Cora in Lloyd's new play or she'll reveal Karen's role in Margo's missed performance.
Unbeknownst to Eve, Margo quits acting, so Eve gets the part anyway.
In New Haven, Addison tells Eve that he has uncovered all her lies! Her real name! There's no Shubert Theater in San Francisco, as anyone would be able to find out!
Eve is totally distraught and refuses to perform, but Addison forces her to. She won't pull one over on him again.
Eve goes on to win a major acting award.
However,she's insulted by all her former friends and returns to her hotel room.
There she meets Phoebe, an eager young girl with stars in her eyes… just like Eve was a few months ago.
There's justice in the world after all.
