Exactly how steamy is this story?

It should come as no surprise that Angela's Ashes, a coming of age memoir, has several scenes of a sexual nature. Given that having sex is seen as a mark of adulthood, the topic becomes extremely relevant and pertinent to Frank's personal life as he embarks on the journey to manhood. Frank McCourt's extremely frank about the sexual lives of teenage boys and includes several scenes of masturbation and premarital sex, which happen to be very taboo subjects in Catholic Ireland. But it's precisely the taboo nature of sex that Frank explores and deconstructs as he engages in sexual acts with himself and others. As he matures, Frank becomes more and more comfortable with his sexuality and the idea of sex. In fact, the novel culminates with a sexual act that initiates Frank into his new home in America.
