Col. Kurtz

Kurtz is the dragon or evil wizard at the end of the journey: the bad guy whom the main character needs to kill or die trying. He's created his own world of murder and mayhem. Surrounded by a private army, Kurtz could easily kill Willard and Willard knows it. Kurtz wants to die; he passively awaits Willard's hack attack.
