Charlie Wales

Charlie Wales is the clear protagonist of "Babylon Revisited." The close third person narration (see "Narrator Point of View") puts us right next to him (and sometimes in his head) for the story. We also have to admit that "Babylon Revisited" is Charlie's story in the first place. Charlie isn't a typical hero because we doubt him and the nature of his transformation. He's also a recovering alcoholic with some serious skeletons in his closet. Still, we root for him (at least part of the time).
