Roxane Coss Timeline and Summary

Roxane sings at birthday party for Mr. Hosokawa in an unnamed South American country.
The birthday party is taken over by terrorists. What happened to a simple encore?
Most of the women are let out of the house by the terrorists, but Roxane stays as a hostage.
Time passes. It's boring.
Roxane manages to negotiate getting some sheet music and starts singing. Now she's got a one-up on the terrorists.
Roxane's art changes the whole situation and helps create a community among hostages and terrorists alike.
Roxane and Mr. Hosokawa start a romance, helped by Mr. Hosokawa's translator, Gen, and the young terrorist, Carmen (who also becomes Gen's lover).
Roxane discovers that the young terrorist Cesar has a voice to die for and starts teaching him the tricks of the opera trade.
Broken dreams alert: government forces invade the house. All the terrorists and Mr. Hosokawa are killed.
All the other prisoners are set free. But it's less than an ideal solution.
Roxane marries Gen and they start a life together. Roxane continues to work as an opera singer.
