Protagonist
Character Role Analysis
Henry Alden
The Boxcar Children tend to travel as a pack, so in a sense, all four Alden children are the main characters. But if we had to pick one of them as the star of the show, we'd single out Henry because he occasionally breaks away from the group to go work at Dr. Moore's house—and when he does, the narrator follows him there. So, whether he's organizing a garage or winning a race, we're right there with Henry. He's also the informal leader of his gang of siblings, in charge of making important decisions. Go, Henry, go.
