Karellen meets Rashaverak on his holo-deck-thingy for an update.
Rashaverak says that in reading half of Rupert's library, he's discovered eleven cases of partial breakthrough and twenty-seven probables. Whatever those might be.
He also informs Karellen on Jean Morrel's fainting spell, claiming she's Category Purple. Again, we're left to wonder what that might be, though we officially suspect that foreshadowing is at work at this point.
As for Jan, Karellen believes the information he discovered can in no way be used against them at this point.
After the party, Rupert gets the feeling something of importance happened that night but generally manages to forget the whole situation.
George flies home with Jean and decides he really cares for her.
Jean wakes up, and the two agree to sign a marriage contract for ten full years. How romantic?
Jan sits on the information until he manages a trip to London for a meeting at the International Astronomical Union.
While there, he pops into the Royal Astronomical Society and searches the Star catalogues.
He figures out two things: (1) No one at Rupert's party could have known he would ask that question, and (2) NGS 549672 lies at the heart of the constellation Carina.
Jan doesn't care how he got the answer; he only cares about the results. And those results say he's discovered the Overlords' world. Boo ya.
