• The Overlords' ships appear all over Earth. Karellen addresses humanity and lays down some new ground rules: no war, no killing animals for sport, and so on.
• Karellen and Stormgren begin drafting the charter for the World State. With no more individual countries, the World Cup will certainly be a bore, but them's the breaks.
• After Stormgren gets kidnapped, Karellen waits until the mastermind terrorist reveals himself before mounting a rescue. Jerkish? Yes. Affective? Also yes.
• Karellen and Stormgren finish the World State treaty. Karellen allows the human to get a brief glimpse of him during their final meeting.
• Fifty years later, the Overlords reveal their physical form. The people of Earth are shocked and then quickly get over it once they get aircars.
• Rashaverak reports to Karellen that Jean Morrel is category purple (whatever that means).
• Karellen visits the sea lab to check out the whale that Jan will hide in to zip off to the Overlord planet. We never learn whether or not he knows of Jan's plans.
• After stowaway Jan is found, Karellen holds a worldwide press conference, again stating that humanity cannot go into space.
• Years later, Karellen spies on the young Jeffery, learning he will be the catalyst for humanity's entrance into the Overmind.
• Karellen again addresses the world to tell everyone humanity is going to go extinct. Bummer.
• The Overlords round up the children of Earth to help foster their transcendence into the Overmind.
• When Jan returns to Earth, Karellen greets him with some bad news.
• Karellen leaves the planet as the Overmind forms and says a silent farewell to mankind.
