When you think of community, you normally think of close-knit, supportive neighbors and good old traditional values. You probably don't think of collusion to murder. But in Chronicle of a Death Foretold the community is just as culpable, if not more so, in the death of Santiago as the murderers themselves. The town is so small that everyone knows everything about everyone. You would think that would cut down on crime, but instead it seems to enable it.
