Fantasy
If your previous knowledge of Fitzgerald extended only so far as The Great Gatsby, then you’re probably surprised to hear his name associated with words like "whimsy" and "fantasy." But the case of "Benjamin Button" is not only curious – it’s fantastic. What’s so interesting about Benjamin’s life, however, is that this rather unrealistic story comments to such an extent on the very real world in which we all live. Benjamin comes to grips with the consequences of his age – we all have to do the same thing. He realizes how much a person changes with age, explores the nature of love, and comes to grips with his own mortality. Backwards, forwards – who cares! Life is the same either way.
