Miracle is our main girl in this book, the central character who goes on journey of self-discovery, change, and acceptance of her family's complicated history. Along the way, she has to go through the dark tunnel of facing her fears and a lot of uncomfortable truths, but she emerges at the end as a new person ready to conquer the many problems of her past and redefine her identity in the present. And it's a good thing, too, since we root for her all along.
