Pearl DeWitt

Pearl's working double time as our narrator and protagonist in this book. Because we spend so much time with her, we root for her start to finish as we get her perspective on what goes down in the book. This is her story, though other people are involved, too. Along the way Pearl changes, and while she might be the same determined and independent gal all the way through, it's clear that her perspective on love and family shifts by the end. Just one more reason that she's our gal.
