Neil Perry (Robert Sean Leonard)’s Timeline and Summary

Neil and his father meet the Headmaster.
He then meets Todd and immediately encourages him to come out of his shell.
Neil is told by his father that he'll no longer be on the yearbook staff, and he argues briefly before giving in.
Neil shows the other guys the yearbook and decides to institute a new Dead Poets Society meetup.
Neil leads the meetings.
Todd is cheered by Neil's humor and they bond over familial pressures.
He decides to try out for the school play and gets the role of Puck, the main character.
His father discovers that he has joined the play and insists that he quit.
Neil asks Mr. Keating for advice and is told that he should tell his father how he really feels.
The play goes well, but he shrinks when he sees his father enter the theater.
Mr. Perry makes Neil leave instead of attending any after-parties and informs him that he is removing him from Welton.
Neil tries to tell his father what he really wants, but cannot say it.
He instead takes his own life with his father's gun.
