Felix Leiter

Bond normally flies solo, but Dr. No finds him teaming up with an ally—a CIA agent named Felix Leiter. Leiter has been on Dr. No's case for longer than Bond has, so he helps him out by giving him a full profile of Doc Nuh-uh.

Physically, Leiter is almost as slick as Bond. Maybe he's even more suave, depending on your tastes. Although Leiter would be seen again in a reduced role, he'd be played by less handsome actors (no offense, boys). Leiter's actor, Jack Lord, fancied himself just as important as Bond and demanded more money and a co-starring credit to return. (Source)

The producers took to that much in the same way as Bond took to that spider in his bed.
