Frodo Baggins

Frodo is probably a lot like you. Frodo likes simply hanging around The Shire, sharing some drinks and good times with his buds.

But, before he has time to comprehend what's happened, he's on the run from shadowy, undead wraiths on horseback with a magic Ring that could cause the end of his world.

Frodo's journey is like all of our journeys, which is how we know he's the protagonist—he moves from innocence to (a ton of) experience. It's through Frodo that we experience the wonders and horrors of Middle-earth, and, more importantly, the dangers of greed and deception that come with bearing the One Ring.
