Double Shot

There's so much Starbucks in this movie, we're surprised it's not set in Seattle. It's rumored that a Starbucks cup appears in every scene in the movie. Starbucks is a critical source of caffeine for many people, and caffeine can lead to sleeplessness, making it the perfect corporate sponsor for a movie about a guy with insomnia.

These shots serve as both ubiquitous product placement and a parody of ubiquitous product placement. We think Tyler would approve…except for the part where Starbucks refused to allow itself to be blown up by the filmmakers. That's where they drew the line. We can't really blame them: no one wants Pumpkin Spice Latte detritus everywhere.
