- At the brothel, Eddard finds another of Robert's illegitimate children, a black-haired baby.
- Suddenly, on their way home, Jaime Lannister and twenty Lannister guards surround the Starks' small party and threaten them. Petyr runs to get the City Watch.
- Since Jaime can't kill Eddard (because then Catelyn would kill Tyrion), Jaime just tells his men to kill Eddard's men. Eddard's leg is broken when his horse falls and his men – Jory, Heward, and Wyl – are killed.
