Sure, some middle-aged folks star in these tales, too, but the bulk of the well-known protagonists are young, innocent, and as loyal as can be. This means that they're often taken advantage of and put in binds. Naiveté is adorable to a point, but we really get to watch them grow up and come into their own as people who contribute something to the world. Even if what they're contributing is being kind to animals and cooking for seven dwarfs.
