The Harry Potter saga gets plenty dark—and hey, any movie that starts with the hero's parents getting killed by Freaky Bald Embodiment of Absolute Evil is going to have some dark patches—but by and large we're still early in the game.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone aims to stay as family friendly as possible. The threats are real, but largely violence-free, and swearing stays limited to…well to nothing as far as we can tell.
And sex? Seriously, these kids are eleven. We don't get so much as a naked ankle here. All the better to let families watch it together…and to get the kids good and hooked for the rest of the story.
