Sadie Timeline & Summary

Sadie is the second oldest Delany child.
After a childhood spent at St. Augustine's College, Sadie travels the South, teaching to raise money for college.
She moves to Harlem, NYC with her sister Sadie and moves into an apartment with her siblings.
She studies at Pratt Institute for domestic science for two years, and then finishes her studies at Columbia.
After getting her degree, Sadie starts teaching at high schools during the day and working with disadvantaged adults at night.
Her father passes away and her mom Nanny moves to Harlem. Sadie and her mom go on tons of adventures together.
After Nanny dies, Sadie and Bessie move to Mount Vernon, a suburb just outside of New York City.
