Dr. Masakazu Fujii Timeline and Summary

Dr. Fujii was running a small hospital on the Kyo River. When the bomb was dropped, he and the hospital were launched into the river.
He sustained some injuries as a result of being pinned between two beams. He went to his parents' house to heal/regroup, and then to the house of a friend. However, that friend's house also ended up falling into a river when there was severe flooding.
Ultimately, Dr. Fujii bought a clinic and set up a practice there. He tried to make life as fun and awesome as possible, entertaining frequently (including lots of foreigners).
He also traveled to the U.S. at one point to serve as a chaperone to some Japanese girls who were seeking surgery for bomb-related scars. He had a big time on that trip as well, fussing over the girls and partying into the night.
Things took a less festive turn when he ended up accidentally (?) gassing himself almost to death with a gas heater left on in his bedroom overnight. Initially his family thought he would recover, but he ended going into a vegetative state that ended eleven years later in his death.
