Hatsuyo Nakamura Timeline and Summary

Mrs. Nakamura, a widow with three children, had returned home after a night evacuation. She was standing at her window when the bomb was dropped.
After she was able to dig herself out of the resulting rubble, she got her kids out as well and went to the evacuation zone in Asano Park. She then went to stay at the Novitiate for a little while, and then to her sister-in-law's.
Eventually, she was able to get a shanty for herself and her kids, and they moved there (they later got the opportunity to move to a nicer place through a program that an American was running privately, and they took it).
She struggled for years to make ends meet, which was made even harder by her chronic health problems, but she eventually found a good job and stayed there for a long time.
Ultimately, due to a variety of factors (including family and government assistance), she was able to retire in comfort.
