Toshiko Sasaki Timeline and Summary

Miss Sasaki had just arrived at work for the day when the bomb was dropped. She ended up trapped for several hours with a badly broken leg.
Even when she managed to get out, the situation remained dicey. Instead of being taken to a hospital, she had to lay out more or less in the open, huddled underneath a makeshift lean-to with two other injured people.
Eventually, she was rescued and taken to a hospital. She then ended up getting bounced around from hospital to hospital as doctors struggled to figure out the best way to help her. Eventually, they were able to set the bone and get rid of the infection, but her leg ended up significantly shorter than the other, making it difficult to walk.
However, later, she ended up getting orthopedic surgery that improved the difference between the legs, significantly improving her quality of life.
Meanwhile, through the influence of Kleinsorge, she embraced Catholicism and entered the convent. She ended up having a long and successful career as a nun.
