Divide and Conquer Only Works When You're Shopping on Black Friday

- We've all heard things from "pastors, priests, or rabbis with which [we] strongly disagreed," but should we be condemning those people for exercising their right to criticize (37)?
- We're totally within our rights to ask them what exactly they hope to achieve by championing such divisive views of social realities, especially with the host of other issues we have to deal with, "problems that are neither black or white or Latino or Asian, but rather problems that confront us all" (41).
- We as a nation have enough to worry about, and Reverend Wright's comments serve no other purpose than to perpetuate the cycle.
