There are so many different things to explore in this world—both real and imaginary—and we know of two ways to do it. First, you can actually get off your butt, get in the car, and get yourself somewhere that needs exploring. Second, you can read a book. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages, but Hop on Pop is really about showing young readers a distinct advantage in the exploration of reading. When reading to explore, your boundaries are limitless. Want to explore creatures inconceivable even in the deepest forests of Madagascar? Go right ahead. What to explore landscapes that would blow a geologist’s mind wide open? You’re more than welcome to (though please leave any geologists at home).
