• Takes part in a plot to overthrow General Rafael Trujillo.
• Builds a secret cubicle in his house, just in case.
• Has to hide in the secret cubicle when the secret police come looking for him.
• Flees the country with his family, and settles in New York.
• Worries a lot about his fellow revolutionaries back home who are being jailed and murdered.
• Has trouble getting an American doctor's license, because of his foreign education.
• Is aided in getting a fellowship by Dr. Fanning.
• Gets hit on by Dr. Fanning's wife at a restaurant. Awkward.
