If you want to read "The Husband's Message" in its original language, Old English, get ready to hit the books. (That is, unless you're already a skilled Anglo-Saxonist, in which case, we salute you.) You'll need to learn noun and adjective declensions, verb families and tenses, and lots and lots of vocabulary. Don't feel like putting in the time? There are a lot of good translations out there. Like all translations, though, they represent one person's interpretation of the poem, so we recommend that you read several different translations. Check out "Best of the Web" for a few options.
