Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio)’s Timeline and Summary

Before the film begins, Cobb and Mal are stuck in Limbo. Cobb plants an idea in Mal's mind that her world is not real, resulting in their escape but also later in her suicide.
Dom is thought to have murdered Mal so he leaves his children and runs away.
Dom is working for Cobol Engineering but fails to extract information from Saito who then hires Cobb to perform inception on Robert Fischer.
Cobb assembles a team to complete the job, going to Paris for an architect and a home base and then traveling to Mombasa for a forger and chemist.
Cobb and the team strategize.
Cobb dreams about memories of his wife. They aren't all happy. His projection of Mal seems like it's going to be a problem.
Everyone gets on a plane with Fischer and enters the first dream level where everything goes awry.
Cobb and the team temporarily escape and then dive into the second level of dream because Saito is dying, Fischer's trained subconscious is moving in, and they need to hurry it up.
The second level is more promising. Cobb pulls out everyone's favorite Mr. Charles and they get Fischer to turn on Browning and his own subconscious.
In the third level Cobb fails to shoot Mal in time and Fischer dies.
Cobb goes into Limbo where he saves Fischer and confronts Mal. He is finally able to let her go, but not before she stabs him.
Cobb is in Limbo again, he manages to find Saito and together they make it out alive.
Cobb goes home to his children… probably. It could be all a dream.
