Cobb

Cobb is no doubt our main man. From start to finish, Inception is essentially his story. We start with him washing up on a beach and end with him at home with his children.

We follow him into all of his dreams and are always aware of where he is in both his physical journey and his emotional one.

By the end of the movie, the inception of Fischer actually seems secondary. We realize that the real story here isn't whether Fischer will dissolve some random energy corporation we don't care about: it's really a story about Cobb coming to terms with his past and himself.
