Exactly how steamy is this story?

Tobias and Tris don't exactly get hot and heavy with each other. More like… warm and light. It's all very over-the-clothes and fairly tame, and although Tris says "I feel warm everywhere" (3.52) when Tobias touches her, it's hard to tell if it's romance or just the flu.
The few times things start to get a little steamier, Tris pushes away. She says, "I can't be with him in that way if one of my reasons for wanting it is to distract myself from grief" (5.53). So, Tris is still the type of girl who refers to s-e-x by calling it that in italics. Of course, she was raised Abnegation, which seems to discourage any sort of personal contact whatsoever, so maybe that helps explain her reticence.
