Shukumar Timeline and Summary

Shukumar and his wife Shoba receive a notice about weeklong, scheduled blackouts.
Shukumar thinks back to what life was like before Shoba gave birth to their stillborn baby and then compares it to life, post-baby.
He prepares dinner while Shoba sets the table.
She suggests they each share a secret over dinner.
He learns that, in the beginning of their courtship, she had peeked in his address book to see if he wrote her address in (he didn't).
He tells her that the first time they went out for dinner, he forgot to tip the waiter because he was distracted by his feelings for her.
On the second night, they do the same thing and learn that: Shoba lied and went out with her girlfriend once instead of staying in when his mother visited; Shukumar cheated on his Oriental Civilization exam in college.
The third and fourth nights are the same: they both share some pretty negative stuff about themselves.
They also kiss on the third night and make love on the fourth night.
On the fifth night, the blackout has ended, but Shoba tells Shukumar a secret anyway: she's planning on moving out and wants a separation.
In return, Shukumar tells Shoba something she didn't want to know: the sex of their stillborn baby.
Shoba turns the lights off and they both cry.
