Character Analysis
We're thinking of renaming Hunter's Hunter Man's Man. Why's that? Because he exemplifies all that is super-manly: He's a hunter, he's an independent dude, and he acts as a surrogate father to Joe (perhaps because he realizes, on the day of Joe's birth, that he has an illegitimate son of his own). Though we can't say for sure, we're betting he has mountains of chest hair—the stereotypical testosterone is strong in this one.
Hunter also gives Joe a crucial piece of information that haunts him for life: Joe's mom is Wild. We never know what happens to Hunter after Joe leaves for the bright lights of the big city, but we know that Joe's knowledge of his mom's identity keeps him restless and worried for years. So, uh, thanks, Hunter's?
