Mark Mathabane

As a narrator, Mark tells the story of his escape from apartheid South Africa. The story revolves around Mark's ability to persevere through hardship and suffering to get an education and to succeed at tennis. The story is uniquely his, and every scene is related through his point of view. In addition, we identify with Mark and root for his success throughout the many obstacles and challenges he encounters.
