Sarah

Sarah can be pretty mean to Dana at times, but she's also the only person who steps up and teaches Dana how to survive as a black woman in a slave's world. She teaches Dana how to cook and how to be useful around the plantation. Even though she's tough, Sarah makes a major impact on Dana's life by helping her stay out of trouble—at least most of the time.
