Brigadier General Ezra Mannon Timeline and Summary

Short but not-so sweet: Ezra arrives home from the war.
Lavinia's thrilled to see him and starts crying. Ezra is touched but tells her to stop.
There's a little conversation about his heart trouble.
He asks about the Captain Brant nonsense that Lavinia wrote about.
Christine tries to play it off, and it works, even though Ezra's upset the guy was around so much.
He has a conversation with Christine and tells her that he wants to try and fix their marriage because seeing so much death made him want to live.
Christine doesn't seem to be having any of it.
Lavinia tries to interrupt them. Ezra sends her to bed.
Ezra and Christine have a nasty argument after sleeping together.
Ezra tells Christine more or less the same stuff as before—about wanting to fix things.
After she tells Ezra she's been cheating on him with Brant, and who Brant is, he becomes enraged, develops heart trouble, and calls for his medicine.
Christine claims to be giving him the medicine but actually poisons him.
Lavinia rushes in, and Ezra dies after pointing to Christine and accusing her of killing him.
