Character Analysis
Won't You Be My Neighbor?
Mr. Rogers seems like he could take a couple cues from Barreaux, the St. Auberts' neighbor at La Vallée. Sure, he's kind of a loner, but he's always there for Em when she's feeling blue about her parents' death. He also has sincere admiration for St. Aubert:
"If I could have found such a man in what is called society, I should not have left it." (1.9.3)
Even better, he sends Em a pheasant as a gift to express his condolences. Any dude who sends a pheasant as a gift is definitely worth knowing.
