Neuromancer

(4) Base Camp

Neuromancer isn't too difficult of a book. The story is told from Case's perspective throughout the entire novel. The sequence of events is linear without any jumping around in time. The plot moves at a brisk and exciting pace like the heist movies it draws inspiration from, stuff like Ocean's Eleven and The Sting.

Still, Neuromancer throws us for a few loops. For example, Gibson doesn't immediately make it obvious how places like Night City and Chiba City are related to one another, but we can offer you a helping hand in the "Settings" section.

And Case's perspective often jumps back and forth between reality, cyberspace, virtual realities, and Molly's consciousness, which can get more than a little confusing. Sometimes even he loses track. Oh, and those Rastafarian dialects are thick. But one you get into the groove of things, you'll do just fine.
