The Professor

The Prof appears in very few scenes, but in each of his appearances he tells us exactly what we need to know. He always has the answers, and in this sense it's like he's our mentor as well as Thornhill's. Note that he'll also preside over the rescue that saves both Roger and Eve. Atop Mount Rushmore, he congratulates a sergeant on having shot Leonard, who tumbles to his death. He doesn't do the shooting himself but knows how to orchestrate the situation.
