Octavian

Octavian is the main guy of the book. He tells us his story, and even when other people take the narration reigns for a bit, we remain firmly rooted on his side the whole way, whether he's trying to figure out his messed-up childhood as a living scientific experiment or fighting with the Patriots (you know, the slave-masters) against the Brits. And we're definitely on his side when he stands up to Mr. Sharpe.
