• Jimmi is an eighteen-year-old war vet who's already seen a girl blown up in front of him when we meet him. He's depressed, confused, and addicted to drugs.
• He flushes his stash down the toilet, trying to kick the habit, but regrets it soon after—he's not sure he even has anything to live for.
• One day by the VA hospital, he meets a newspaper girl named Fatima. She makes him a paper angel from her newspapers and he releases a bunch of them into the sky for people to see.
• He's friends with Joe, who owns a convenience store around the block, but when Joe dies unexpectedly, Jimmi becomes more depressed and doesn't know if he wants to keep on living.
• Jimmi goes looking for drugs but finds a gun instead. He plans on using it on himself, but decides to give Joe a proper send-off first.
• Jimmi sees Mik and Fatima's mural and thinks it's the most beautiful thing he's ever seen.
• Shanelle's mob cuts Mik, and at the last second, Jimmi runs in and rescues her, taking her to his cave to lay low.
• In the meantime, word gets out that Jimmi has kidnapped Mik, and everyone takes to the streets in search of him. When they find him, they attack.
• The mob kick sand punches Jimmi and hangs him. Suddenly, Fatima appears and stands in between the mob and Jimmi, demanding they release him.
• Jimmi is pulled down and taken to the hospital, where he accidentally mentions Fatima to someone who calls immigration on her.
• He's depressed that he had a hand in Fatima's deportation. Jimmi goes by Mik's house, wailing about something or other, hoping someone will listen. Mik hopes her mom will listen this time, too.
