Exactly how steamy is this story?

Look, we know that you aren't interested in imagining the sexual adventures of an older, balding, Russian gentleman. So you can let out a sigh of relief, because there is absolutely no mention of that whatsoever. For all we know, Pnin is a virgin.
There really isn't anything steamy in Pnin. There is a painting of a kiss between two young kids. And we know that Liza and Eric must have gotten together in order to have Victor, their son. Yeah, duh. But nothing happens on stage, and we are sincerely grateful for that.
So why a PG rating? That's for violence. There's so much gruesome death in this novel that it can be disturbing at times. But, just like the romance, that's all in the past.
