  • Pudd'nhead takes Tom's fingerprints.
  • Roxy switches the places of Chambers and Tom.
  • Déjà vu: Pudd'nhead takes Tom's fingerprints again.
  • Percy Driscoll dies and leaves Tom in the care of Judge Driscoll.
  • Tom grows up, drops out of Yale, and returns to Dawson's Landing with a gambling habit.
  • Driscoll pays Tom's gambling debts, but Tom soon racks up more debts and begins disguising himself as a woman and robbing houses in town.
  • Roxy tells Tom about the switch and begins blackmailing him.
  • Tom attends a rum rally where he offends Luigi who kicks him into the audience.
  • When Driscoll discovers that Tom brought charges against Luigi in court, he takes him out of his will.
