Dinah Brand

Dinah is the romantic interest of many of the men in Red Harvest, from Robert Albury to Whisper to Dan to Elihu Willsson—and the Op, if he's being honest. She's quite the guy magnet. Even the Op seems to harbor some affection for her, but he never admits this to us, or even to himself. He's way too tough to ever reveal his emotions, but he and Dinah spend an awful lot of time together. And the Op does seem to be pretty torn up over her death, despite his attempts to act indifferent to her murder. Nothing ever happens between them (they never even kiss or hold hands), but we suspect that the Op is in denial about the effect that Dinah had on him.
