Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption Steaminess Rating

Exactly how steamy is this story?

As befits a guy who became fabulously rich writing about Satanic clowns and haunted hotels, Stephen King doesn't pull any punches. That not only means salty language and the occasional racial epitaph (from the characters, not the author), but a lot of sexual innuendo as well. A big part of the first section involves prison rape, and while he doesn't completely delve into the details, he does draw several vivid images such as:

I'm gonna open my fly now, mister man, and you're going to swallow what I give you to swallow. (94)

Not a lot of room for interpretation there. It also means that if you're below the voting age, you might want to pick up a different book—some parts of this book might prompt uncomfortable questions that parents might not be willing to entertain.
