Joan's Voices
We never see any kind of embodiment of Joan's voices on stage, but they still fit the bill as mentors. Joan insists to her death that Saint Margaret, Saint Catherine, and sometimes the archangel Michael all speak to her on God's behalf. They tell her that she must crown Charles at Rheims and get all the English out of French speaking lands. She gives them credit for every decision she makes and every battle she wins. Joan seems to briefly doubt them, when she realizes she's about to be executed. She even signs a confession saying that they're demonic. When the Church tells her that her reward for repentance is life imprisonment, her faith is quickly renewed. To Joan, a life in jail is a far worse fate than execution. She goes to her death firmly believing that her voices have guided her in doing God's will on Earth.
